JigsawMobile™ is developed and supported by Orchid Technology KK, an independent software solutions provider, based in Tokyo.

Orchid Technology has been providing the financial community in Japan and overseas with high-performance, robust software solutions since 1996, based on our proprietary Jigsaw™ software. These solutions include PC-based financial data applications, such as trading systems and sophisticated charting solutions, as well as a range of server products, such as trading gateways, data distribution servers, and stock exchange connectivity software.

The mobile applications are designed as an extension of this architecture, with the same high level of data reliability and sophistication of front-end display.

As with our PC-based solutions, the front-end display is completely decoupled from the data source, so that we can offer solutions which are not tied to a particular data vendor. The front-end display can also be designed for a particular look and feel, which is then applied across all supported models from the different phone carriers and hardware manufacturers. Web-based solutions, for mobile phones, and also for PCs, based on this same look and feel, can also be provided (although the mechanism for updating real-time data is different).

Orchid Technology has been at the forefront of development of real-time financial applications for mobile phones since the introduction of 3G broadband services in Japan. Our solutions have been implemented on all the major carriers in Japan, covering the various phone software platforms, such as Java MIDP and BREW®.

As well as having an in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of developing solutions for each of the major carriers in Japan, we also understand the administrative process involved in deploying applications on the different networks.

The solutions developed for the Japanese market can also be applied to other countries, depending on the carrier procedures for supporting such services.

The technology developed for these financial applications could also be applied to other industry sectors, where there is a requirement to provide real-time data updates.
